My Story

Making the decision to start therapy is a very brave thing.  I believe therapy is a collaborative process that provides the emotional support and structure to help you work towards understanding yourself better, make changes to your life, practice new coping skills, and have the growth you want to better your life.  It is truly an honor to witness the strength of the human spirit, the resiliency we all have within us, and the change that happens within the therapeutic space.

I have been working as a mental health therapist serving the Madison area since 2008 in both outpatient and intensive outpatient settings.  I strive to have an open, kind, and non-judgmental environment within each session.  Every session is different and unique, truly organic in nature, and I believe no subject matter is off limits or TMI.  I have advanced training in trauma, grief, caregiver burnout, working with the LGBTQIA+ communities, and provide evaluations for letters of readiness for gender affirming surgeries.

The therapeutic approaches I utilize in session are dependent on each client’s presenting concerns and goals.  I will weave in techniques from Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and body based approaches, Motivational Interviewing, and Complex Trauma Informed Care.
